Continuing with the revival of relapsed resolutions, I finally managed to go for a nice refreshing walk in the morning! I had set the alarm on my phone as I usually do. But today I could not snooze it and get back under the covers as I had to search for my phone and was fully awake by the time i located it
I cud have jogged too, but then did not want to overdo it on the very first day and exhaust myself. The one-hour power walk was probably a better option than than a quick burn-out!
Mohandessin, the posh residential area where we live, is quite a place. I discovered a whole lot of things about the place I have been living for 5 months now. I have been to the pyramids more times than i had gone to the park near our house! The ever busy city was actually least active at 7:30 AM. It was a nice feeling, with the sun just beginning to warm the troposphere, the traffic flow yet to start, people yet to start clogging the streets!
There I was, breathing in the air that for once was not loaded with the repulsive smell of cigarette smoke and felt alive! I hope I would make it every day!

Never too late!
When I first landed in Cairo on the 4th of April 2007, it was a nice feeling! I was away from India for the first time in my life! After the formalities of Immigration, baggage claim, as I walked out of the terminal to get into the cab (I had to wait a little while and borrow a Cop's cell phone to make a local call and find out why the cabbie was not there to pick me up!), it was a wonderful feeling! I was eager to explore this mystic land of mummies and pharaohs. Too bad I was here for work and not tourism!!
Right then and there, I had resolved to maintain a travelogue and blog like crazy and capture the flood of words, thoughts, feelings, impressions, observations, comments for posterity! Unfortunately, fate willed otherwise and I found myself trying to complete yesterday's task by tomorrow and my resolve dissolved!
But then, there comes a time - a moment of truth as it were - when you realize that there will always be work to do and that certain things like living a life and enjoying every moment of it can't wait or be postponed. So here I am blogging away!
Never too late, right? Any way, I still am Curious In Cairo.
